ReThink Theatrical: Anansi’s Story Festival
November 7, 2021 @ 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
About this event
ReThink Theatrical presents Anansi’s Story Festival, an interactive theatrical production that explores and celebrates historical figures, myths, urban legends, and folklore from New Jersey and around the world. Join our emcee and Storyteller-in-Chief, Anansi the Spider, who needs your help deciding the fate of humanity!
Set in the historic East Jersey Old Town Village in Piscataway, NJ, this immersive production explores the Village’s beautiful architecture while complementing the timelessness of these classic tales. Audience members will roam and discover characters inspired from cultures rooted in New Jersey. Set in the crisp November air, this experience will be like none other.
This world premier was designed by and will be performed by a group of New Jersey artists of many backgrounds and artistic expressions. Visit www.rethinktheatrical.org/anansi to learn more about the artists, stories, and more!
This production is recommended for adults and children age 10 and up for references to war and violence.
Sunday November 7th at 1PM and 3PM
Saturday November 13 at 1PM and 3PM
Sunday November 14th at 1PM and 3PM
There are no rain or snow dates scheduled for this run. ReThink Theatrical may cancel a performance if the weather results in a safety risk to audience members or performers. We will communicate any cancellations via email, our website, and social media.
As always, ReThink Theatrical produces free and accessible theater to the public. Although we suggest a $10 donation, we operate on a pay-as-you-wish model. Because we have a free ticket model, we ask that you only reserve tickets for those who are confirmed to attend.
What to Expect
Each show will run approximately 75 minutes without intermission and audiences will be asked to move about the ½ acre property via gravel pathways. Chairs will be available to those who cannot stand for extended lengths of time. The entire performance will be outdoors, so please dress accordingly.
